Dr. Brett Brazen is a Florida native, born and raised in Clearwater. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Florida State University, followed by a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences from the University of South Florida. He went on to receive his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University and completed his Dermatology Residency at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale.
During residency, Dr. Brazen trained extensively in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. He was elected Academic Chief Resident — a distinction recognizing the top resident in his class — and contributed to peer‑reviewed publications throughout his training. Dr. Brazen’s favorite part of dermatology is meeting new people and making an immediate impact by helping resolve conditions patients have often struggled with for years. He especially enjoys treating acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
Dr. Brazen is an active member of the dermatology community, serving on the board of directors of both the Florida Academy of Dermatology and the Sarasota County Medical Society.
Outside of work, he spends most of his time with his wife and two boys and their family sheepadoodle, Goose. When not enjoying family time, Dr. Brazen is an avid golfer, pickleballer, scuba diver, and food enthusiast. He also enjoys watching his favorite soccer team, Arsenal.
