What Is BOTOX Cosmetic®?
BOTOX® is an easy injection for the treatment of frown lines and crows feet. Dynamic wrinkles are caused by contractions of the delicate underlying facial muscles every time you smile, laugh or frown. The more emotions you show, the deeper these wrinkles and lines are likely to be. Patients will usually notice results 2 to 10 days after a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment.
Many wrinkles are caused by using your facial muscles while talking, laughing, smiling or frowning. Over time, these repeated expressive facial features turn into deep facial wrinkles. By using Botox Cosmetic, these wrinkle lines may be less noticeable and significantly improve your facial wrinkles appearances. Crow’s feet, laugh lines and other facial wrinkles can be minimize with Botox injections.
If your facial wrinkles make your friends mention that “you look tired” or makes you feel old, then consider using Botox to rejuvenate your appearance. Botox injections give you a more rested and youthful appearance with a quick out-patient office visit. Using Botox can smooth out facial wrinkles, but it is not a replacement treatment for deep wrinkles due to maturity or severe sun-damaged patients.
What Can I Expect From My BOTOX® Treatment?
Botox can be performed with little or no noticeable side effects. Generally, you can expect to see relaxing of the wrinkles between 5 and 10 days.
How Long Will My Treatment Last?
Botox works to reduce facial wrinkles for 3 – 6 months. Over time with continued usage, many of our patients find that they may only need an occasional Botox injection during the year. Botox’s effectiveness does vary from individual to individual and we would be happy to discuss any Botox limitations in detail during your cosmetic consultation.
