Nicholas Castner, MD, FAAD, AACMS

Board Certified Dermatologist, Fellowship Trained Mohs Surgeon

Dr. Nicholas Castner is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. Born and raised in Bradenton, Dr. Castner is a first-generation physician who was inspired to go into medicine and dermatologic surgery after a close family experience with skin cancer. Due to his background, he uniquely values each patient’s individual experience and hopes to put his patients at ease while providing them with the best quality of care.

Dr. Castner graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida. He attended medical school at the University of South Florida’s Morsani College of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society during his junior year, the top academic honor bestowed upon physicians and physicians in training. While in medical school, Dr. Castner completed melanoma research at Moffitt Cancer Center. He completed his dermatology residency at Stony Brook University followed by a prestigious fellowship in micrographic (Mohs) surgery and dermatologic oncology at Mount Sinai in New York City. During this rigorous fellowship, Dr. Castner completed greater than 1000 surgical cases. Dr. Castner has accumulated numerous scientific publications, presentations, and lectures on the subjects of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer as well as reconstructive surgery, among other topics.

Dr. Castner enjoys lifting weights, fishing, passionately rooting for all the Tampa Bay sports teams, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and trying new restaurants.
